Dr Jon Christie
Dr Jon Christie completed his medical training in 1983 at the University of Queensland, followed by Anaesthetic Specialty training at the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
He was a Senior Anaesthetic Trainee at the Royal London Hospital, London home of Joseph Merrick the famous "Elephant Man" for the last eight years of his life.
Dr Christie has been in Public and now full-time Private Specialist Practice for over 30 years in Brisbane.
He is currently a Clinical Senior Lecturer at UQ.
Overseas volunteer missions are Dr Christie's passion. Since 1999, he has been a volunteer Anaesthetist for Operation Smile International and Interplast Australia. Missions have taken Dr Christie to hospitals in Kenya, India and Fiji. More recently he has undertaken annual Orthopaedic missions to the Republic of Kiribati where children with Club foot deformities are particularly prevalent.
