Dr Torben Wentrup
Torben completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Queensland, with Bachelor’s degrees in both Biomedical Science and Medicine& Surgery. His anaesthetic training was based in Queensland. He undertook a fellowship and worked as a new consultant at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, before moving to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where he worked for a further 8 years.
Torben’s clinical interests are wide, and include anaesthesia for head and neck surgery (ENT, plastic & reconstructive, dental & maxillofacial, and ophthalmic), for interventional pain medicine, as well as major abdominal and orthopaedic surgery, all for both children and adults. He is keenly involved in the education of medical students and junior doctors and is a senior EMST instructor. Torben’s main problem is finding time for all this in the month!
Torben has a young family with two young boys, whom he loves spending time with. His other interests are mountain biking, riding mountain bikes and when possible: spending time in the mountains, preferably on a bike.
