Dr Adam Keys

Dr Adam Keys is a staff specialist paediatric and cardiac anaesthetist at Queensland Children’s Hospital, while also maintaing a mixed adult and paediatric private practice across Brisbane.
Originally from Dalby on the Darling Downs, Dr Keys studied medicine at James Cook University, graduating top of his class in 2010. He completed residency and anaesthetic training in Brisbane and surrounding regions, gaining specialist accreditation (FANZCA) in 2018. He then pursued subspecialisation in paediatric and cardiac anaesthesia through fellowships at Queensland Children’s Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, and Great Ormond Street Hospital London. He also completed an adult fellowship at Princess Alexandra Hospital, refining his expertise in complex adult surgery, particularly major ENT and airway procedures.
Committed to education and clinical advancement, Dr Keys is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and actively contributes to training, research, and quality improvement at Queensland Children’s Hospital. He prioritises patient-centred care, ensuring patients and their families feel heard and supported.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife, three children, and cocker spaniel, as well as music, cooking, and gardening.
