Dr Charles Williams

Specialist Anaesthetist
BE(Hons) 1999, MBBS 2009 UQ. FANZCA 2019

Dr Charles Williams is from Brisbane. He trained in Medicine at the University of Queensland after a brief career as an engineer. It did not take long for Dr Williams to find his true calling in Critical Care and prior to training in Anaesthesia spent some time in Intensive Care, including at The Wesley Hospital. He completed his Specialist Training in Anaesthesia in 2019 after placements at Hervey Bay, Ipswich, the Queensland Children's Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospitals.

Dr Williams finds part time public sector work at the Ipswich Hospital very rewarding due to the broad exposure to anaesthesia and surgical specialties including obstetrics and paediatrics. Since starting in private practice and joining WAPM in 2022, Dr Williams has developed interests in anaesthesia for ophthalmology and tertiary gynaecology whilst still maintaining a broad skill set.
